Welcome to the UK branch of The International Academy of WingChun (IAW-UK).

WingChun is essentially logical thought and fast, precise body motion combined for the purpose of self-defence. Through consistent training in our WingChun system you can expect to become stronger and faster, improve your coordination and body awareness, and feel more confident and better able to defend yourself.

Being Chinese in origin, WingChun is sometimes placed under the general heading of kung fu. However, Grandmaster Klaus Brand's WingChun system is specifically designed for modern-day self-defence and although some of our training methods are traditional, the system as a whole has evolved hugely over the past decade. Our clear and structured syllabus helps you to track your progress and to understand the logic of WingChun from day one. Our aim is to pass on our knowledge, in full, to all of our students so that they can really appreciate and benefit from our system.

WingChun is also mentally stimulating and is a great way to change your focus after a stressful day! With us you can train with like-minded people in a friendly class environment and if you discover a passion for WingChun you have the opportunity to train up to four nights per week, or even take private lessons.
