CHILDREN

WingChun Rising Tigers
International Acadamey of WingChun - Rising Tigers

The aim of these classes is to teach listening and learning skills to children from the ages of 4 to 7 years old (infant school age). The classes are highly structured and instil discipline and respect in a safe and fun way.

The movements and understanding of WingChun are taught on a basic level in a way specifically geared to this age group. Students will learn aspects of the traditional art in order to give them a good grounding in body coordination, balance and flexibility which will serve them well when they progress to the more complex Junior lessons.

WINGCHUN JUNIORS
International Acadamey of WingChun

In the Junior classes, designed for children between 7 and 12 years old, students will be introduced to more challenging combinations of movements and to basic partner training for self-defence at the same time as learning the discipline and respect for one another and their teachers that is needed for WingChun training.

They will also learn about anatomy and physiology, body language, teamwork, relaxation and various other physical and mental skills. This is done to increase the students' understanding of the martial art and how to keep their body healthy. The syllabus is carefully structured to make it easy for new beginners to integrate straight away.

As well as the core WingChun syllabus, we teach monthly themes during lessons, as illustrated below:

At 13 years of age the juniors can comfortably progress into the adult classes knowing they have an excellent foundation of knowledge to build on. Classes are held in Tunbridge Wells (from September 2007), Dulwich and Bromley. Click on Academy List to find class times for your area.
