Student levels 1-8

Over the course of these eight levels, students are taught:

• The first and second forms of the WingChun system, Siu Nim Tao and Tsum Kiu
• The core hand and leg striking techniques
• Defending against hand a leg strikes from a variety of angles
• Numerous partner exercises and sequences (Lat Sao) to help students learn how to apply the movements in self-defence
• The basic footwork steps and how to apply them
• The fundamental Chi Sao ideas and sequences with one arm and two arms and how they can be used in a variety of self-defence situations

Training for student levels 9-11

Having received a solid grounding in the techniques and principles of self-defence, a student now learns to apply them in advanced scenarios such as against weapons and multiple attackers. What the student has learnt in the previous eight grades is continued and expanded upon.

Pre-Prmary Level (Denoted by a badge on the sleeve)

At this stage, students learn how to combine and solidify their understanding of the previous 11 grade levels in preparation for their progression to the Technician Levels.
